Hello, welcome and thank you for reading my blog. Scripts and press releases are what I was trained to do and there was a day when I could do them backwards and in my sleep. But those would put you to sleep. So when I sat down to write the first blog of my life I realized I should just to get it over with. So hi, I’m Sarah, mom of 2, daughter to 2, aspiring writer and big believer that honesty and loyalty are the keys to life.
I feel like a first ever blog post is like a sales person’s first ever cold call. Embarrassing, no matter what. Cold call seemed like perfect words to describe this for me, a 39-year-old daughter of two successful salespeople.
I named the blog itself “seize the day with Sarah” not at all because I plan to give advice, which it sounds a bit nauseatingly like, but because I have epilepsy. I thought it was a good play on words, maybe that’s a little odd, but I figure I get to be odd about it, I’m the one with seizures. I also tell doctors, and others I meet with epilepsy, that I wish they didn’t change the name of a grand mal seizure to a tonic clonic. But that’s for another blog entry.
I don’t want to give away my story here, but thank you in advance for a smile, a laugh, a tear, and any feedback of course. I’ve been a TV newscaster, I can take it. Especially because you can’t see my hair.
Here’s to my cold call. And many more to come.
